Respiratory Clinics of Eastern Kentucky has been in operation since 1983 and is a charter member of the National Black Lung Coalition. The clinic strives to minimize the effects of pulmonary impairment, not only from coal workers pneumoconiosis but other pulmonary disorders as well.
Dr. Mahmood Alam

The RCEK is under the direction of Dr. Mahmood Alam, MD, certified Pulmonologist with over 24 years of experience in Pulmonary treatment for coal workers pneumoconiosis.
Devin Whitt is a Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, APRN. She works alongside Dr. Alam providing care throughout Eastern Kentucky for coal miners and others alike.
